Advanced Underwater Imaging Phase IV Annual Report FY 08 PI : Fraser
نویسندگان
چکیده
1. Rigorous test tank validation of laser pulse time history model, including experimental measurement of beam spread function over extended distances. 2. Development of a receiver model as a necessary addition to the EODES-3 software to more accurately simulate the major noise sources present in the image formation process for both pulsed and CW LLS. 3. Test tank comparison between CW LLS and gated-PLLS imagers. 4. Application of Image Quality algorithms to acquired images.

10: HBOI Underwater Imaging and Communications Research - Phase I
The long term goal of this program is to advance understanding of distributed laser line scan (DLLS) imaging and networking techniques and their applicability to Navy missions which utilize multiple UUVs in support of littoral operations. The planned three year outcome of the work is to provide a validated radiative transfer simulation suite which can allow underwater laser imaging and communic...
متن کاملFY 2009 Annual Progress Report DOE Hydrogen Program IV
The hydrogen activities described below represent a subset of a larger FWP (ERKCC01) identified above. That effort couples synthesis, advanced characterization (including neutron scattering) and computational and theoretical modeling. The primary objective is to discover and exploit controlled synthetic methods to produce, characterize and ultimately control novel inorganic nanometer-scale mate...
متن کاملOptimum Design of a Five-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor for Underwater Vehicles by use of Particle Swarm Optimization
Permanent magnet synchronous motors are efficient motors, which have widespread applications in electric industry due to their noticeable features. One of the interesting applications of such motors is in underwater vehicles. In these cases, reaching to minimum volume and high torque of the motor are the major concern. Design optimization can enhance their merits considerably, thus reduce volum...

متن کاملFY 2009 Annual Progress Report DOE Hydrogen Program IV
We have designed and installed a unique GLAD system with two e-beam sources for the fabrication of nanostructured hydrogen storage materials (such as Mg, MgNi alloy, catalyst coated/doped Mg and its alloy, multilayered metal nanostructures). Due to the reactive nature of the metals/metal alloys for hydrogen storage, the system integrates the vacuum chamber with a glove box. This unique system s...
